There's the best install — and the gap between a good one and a cheap one is the prep work you can't see once the coating's on. I install coatings for a living, so weigh that, but I'd rather you vet me against these criteria than take my word for it. Below is the exact checklist I'd use to judge any installer in this valley, what separates a sub-$500 job from a proper $899+ one, and who should skip a coating entirely.

Why "best brand" is the wrong question

Almost every professional ceramic coating on the market is genuinely SiO2-based glass chemistry. Brands compete on warranty length and hardness ratings, but in real-world desert conditions the differences between two reputable professional lines are small. The difference that actually shows up on your hood two years later is whether the paint was corrected and decontaminated before the coating went on.

A coating bonds to the top of your clearcoat. If swirls, I-15 brake dust, and baked-on mineral deposits are sitting on that surface at install, the coating bonds to the contamination instead of the paint — and starts releasing in patches within 6–12 months.
